year Rie went to Egypt on holiday. She went with
her friend Yuka who works in the same office. They
flew to Cairo and stayed at the Nile Hilton for three nights. They
saw the Great Pyramid and the Sphinx and visited some beautiful mosques. They
thought that the Egyptian Museum was wonderful and enjoyed looking at some ancient
statues. They went to the market and bought some souvenirs
for their friends and family. They thought that the
old part of Cairo was very exotic with its narrow streets and mosques. After
that, they flew south to Luxor, which is famous for its temples and tombs. They
visited the Valley of the Kings and some very beautiful temples. Everywhere
they went, the people were warm and friendly - one young Egyptian wanted to get
married to Yuka. She told him that she wanted to wait
until she was older! After 10 days, they flew back
to Japan. They were tired but very happy. |
