Often people make jokes about these differences,
but they often result in prejudices towards people living
in a particular area.
For example, the people in the south of
England think that the people in the north are old-fashioned
and rude, while the people in the north think that the people
in the south are unfriendly and untrustworthy.
Unfortunately, differences between nationalities
also result in jokes and prejudices.
For example, the English say that the Irish
are stupid and the Scottish are stingy.
The Americans think that the Polish are
simple, and the Russians think that the Ukrainians have
no brains.
There are a lot of prejudices in Europe,
where there are so many countries so close to each other.
The Dutch don't like the Germans, and the
British and the French hate each other.
With so many people with so many prejudices,
it is difficult to imagine Europe as one united country.
