One
summer afternoon Jean and Marie Brun, an elderly couple, decided to visit their
daughter at her home near Paris. Just before six o'clock,
they got back into their car to drive home. Mr. Brun
was just about to start the car when a gunman in the back of the car put a gun
to Mr. Brun's head. "Drive me to Paris,"
he ordered. "All right," Mr. Brun answered. "But
first let my wife out of the car." The gunman
agreed and Mrs. Brun got out of the car. He drove
for a long time without seeing a police car. In the
end, he remembered that there was a police station near where he was. The
gates were closed but he drove straight at them, crashing through them and stopping
in front of the police station. He opened the door
and rolled onto the ground. "Help! He wants to
kill me!" he shouted. The gunman fired once,
but the bullet missed and, seconds later, five police had arrived and taken the
gun away from him. For 30 minutes Mr. Brun's life
had become an action movie! |
