The majority of Japanese are not Christians, but they
celebrate Christmas, hold weddings in churches and now many wear crosses as a
fashion accessory. As most Japanese are Buddhist,
doesn't this seem unusual? Religion helps to reduce
people's anxiety and changes their lifestyles. If
Japanese people don't have religious minds, where do their actions come from ? It
is believed that the decisions of especially the young women are based on if the
action or product is fashionable or not. Almost all
Japanese women buy fashionable items such as Chanel or Louis Vuitton, even if
they are expensive. If a restaurant serves reasonable
food and is thought to be fashionable, it will always be busy. The
young women not only spend a lot of money on themselves, but also make the decisions
in romantic relationships. The woman decides where
she and her boyfriend will eat, where they will get married, where they will go
for a honeymoon and where they will live; all based on what is fashionable. Japan
is one of the leaders of the world economy and its main consumers are young, unmarried
ladies. Many companies depend on making their products
attractive to these young women and those who do not succeed in doing so may lose
their jobs. |
